WHY IS SARAH PALIN GOOD FOR WOMEN?
1. Sarah Palin is keeping the issue of sexism in the United States of America front and center. Hillary Clinton’s historic campaign for the Democratic Nomination was tainted by misogyny, sexism, and abuse by the Democratic Party, the media, and Obama supporters who were known to sport t-shirts declaring, “Iron my shirt, but don’t run my country.” Critics contended that Hillary was subjected to all this abuse, because she’s a polarizing character. Sarah Palin, who is anything but polarizing, is treated with the same disrespect and abuse as was Hillary Clinton. Now everyone knows it wasn’t about Hillary, but rather about women.
2. Sarah Palin is forcing feminists to expand the definition of feminism. Feminism is no longer about Roe v. Wade but is being expanded to include a broader sweep of women’s issues.
3. Feminism is no longer the sole jurisdiction of the Democratic Party. By expanding feminism to include Republican women, Democratic women, pro-choice women and pro-life women, Sarah Palin will increase the power of women in this country and world.
4. Sarah Palin is setting a model for women that women can lead. From the three-year-old toddler to the eighteen year old teenager, she sends a message loudly and clearly, YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. You can be a beauty queen and a governor, you can fish and hunt and still be feminine. You can me a mother, a wife, and a leader. She has redefined feminism and expanded the vistas of young women everywhere.
5. Sarah Palin is making it easier for the next woman to run for the Presidency.
Thank you for your wonderful efforts to elevate the status of women in our society. We need more role-models like you.
Having a woman in the White House would be a HUGE milestone - the likes of which have never been accomplished in the history of the feminist movement.
Lets face it, NOW couldn't even get us close to this milestone in all the years they've been "working for women's rights".
Perhaps thats why the "mean girls" of NOW have taken-up with the scumbag MSM to tear Palin down. (Petty jealousy)
It can't be easy taking the high road when you're constantly subjected to the kind of abuse you're getting from, for instance, some of the "women" posting here.
Of course they're threatened by you - because you're effective. Thank you for being so effective!

GET OVER IT, SWEETIES! Dr. Long is most definitely not alone in the "Feminists for Palin" Club. I can't wait until you all are forced to shut your stinkin' traps on November 4th.

THANK YOU LYNETTE LONG for being a strong voice for the women of America! My feminism runs deep but I am against the closed-minded, one-sided tactics used by the many so-called feminists who "think" they represent us. MCCAIN/PALIN!!

The old Roe v. Wade argument?....so we all have to fall in line and vote for a Democrat. NO.
From Joshua Franks on CounterPunch:
One typical threat that is often levied with fury is the prospect of future Supreme Court nominations. No question the most recent selections to the Court depict a rabid rightwing shift, just don’t forget that it was the Democrats who overwhelmingly confirmed both John Roberts and Samuel Alito despite the collective power to halt their confirmations. And remember, the two best judges serving today, John Paul Stevens and David Souter, were nominated by Gerald Ford and G.W.H. Bush, Republicans both.

Yawn. Are you trolls (boys in girl disguises is my bet) still dragging around that Linus blanket?
A. Palin is the VP pick, not the Presidential candidate. Maybe in 2012 you'll support Hillary Clinton as you should've this time.
B. Any Supreme Court pick has to be approved by DEMOCRATS. Go preach to the congress critters. M'kay?

Well-writen piece. I especially like your point that Gov. Palin's candidacy is expanding the definitions of feminism to include other issues and across party affiliations. As far as the Clintons, I notice Bill Clinton's public comments are complimentary about Gov. Palin. I'm happy to see he's not participating in other Democrats' fear-mongering.

I think it is Dr. Lynn who is trying to redefine the true meaning of Feminism! But it is only making you look desperate and grasping at excuses for why you are taking the road you have chosen! You know and we know that you are full of it! Good try though...Sarah Palin is Good for women!!! Hee..hee that is the funniest thing I've heard in a long long time! Wonder what you will say next?? Can't wait to find out how your imagination works! So far I give you credit for working so so hard making up reasons why you still have any cred on feminism. I think it must be lonely in the Feminist for Palin Fan Club! You can always admit you made a mistake and why? You might be able to squeeze out of that rock and a hard place! Until then keep up the funnies! God luv ya!

Have you thought about what kind of Supreme Court we'd have if Sarah Palin were president? How can anyone who proclaims herself to be a feminist agree with Palin's views? If you truly were a supporter of Hillary Clinton ("to the max") you could not possibly favor Ms. Palin and her anti-everything Sen. Clinton stands for. Supposedly you love all the disagreements being written to you, but think about the damage you might be doing.
